Chapter History
On August 24th, 2014 a determined group of young ladies wanted to begin something incredible and make something more than another Greek Organization here at McMaster. They wanted to make a home - - a group of girls who would make our time here really feel secure and always surrounded by an unbelievable support system. We made our first attempt to get to know everyone with a BBQ. This was the first time the recruitment process looked bleak. Regardless, we made due and circled around a little coffee table.
The week of September 21st - September 27th, our colony took part in Karaoke socials at BP, DPsiD dare-days, and later on an Acoustic Social and our first internal hike! A special colony internal was our Rookie Night, the night our then president Leezanne remember as being too excited to care about her frozen hair, awkward outside lighting and rushed rookie cards. Later in October, we pushed through our goals with The Hockey Night In Hamilton Social, Mac-Trick or Eat, the tremendous success that was the ‘House Full of Hope’ Campaign, our Christmas efforts with CCAS, The Ugly Sweater Social, Exam Goodies, that rough trip to the Ancaster Castaway Internal, and more that came in the beginning of this year. These other achievements involved meeting even more amazing people at the Alpha Epsilon Pi Mixer, and regrouping at the Pancake House. The lovely ladies of Delta Pi hosted a casino night where the goal was to win big!

Our colony’s Delta Psi Delta Auction auction was a success we had some pretty killer giveaways that you couldn’t help but smile at! Our potluck was delicious (maybe due to the fact that we seem to really like involving food at our events) but also one of the last times we got together as an internal before our big day. What ended our colony period was the most incredible, amazing and love filled effort we have ever been a part of as we, and other McMaster Greek life kicked some cancer in Mac’s Relay for Life.
We walked into our colony process with the hopes to make an impact not only in our community, but also on each other. These girls will be at each others weddings, and in the waiting rooms as we wait to see the new addition to our sister’s family’s. Overall, and most importantly, the ladies of Delta Psi Delta had each other through every single moment. The Eta Chapter has put in over 250 hours of service and raised 5,030.51 from September of 2014 to March 2015! We wanted to create something with a heart, and something that would always be filled with love, hard work and sisterhood. We did just that.
