Frequently Asked Questions
Delta Psi Delta Recruitment registration is currently CLOSED. We will be recruiting again in September!

Q: Why should I join a sorority?
A: Being in a sorority is a great way to make new friends on campus! It makes a huge University, like McMaster University, feel a lot smaller. Delta Psi Delta takes pride in helping others and our sisterhood. We are a Canadian National Sorority that can offer amazing connections all over because of our alum. Since DPsiD is a Canadian National Sorority we are not required to pay expensive international dues. Through Delta Psi Delta you will gain valuable leadership skills and exceptional friendships with girls just like you, that are determined to help out the community and achieve success in academics and life.
Q: How do I join Delta Psi Delta - Eta?
A: All the ladies interested in joining the sorority should follow our recruitment instagram and reach out to our recruitment chair if they have any questions.
Q: What is recruitment?
A: Students pursuing an undergraduate degree in a post-secondary institution may participate in recruitment. Recruitment is an opportunity to meet the active members of the Greek organization and figure out if it is the right fit for you. During this time we advise potential members to ask the active sisters any questions about being an active sister of Delta Psi Delta or whatever concerns you may have.
Q: What are the requirements of recruitment?
A: See answer here.
Q: What happens after recruitment?
A: New Member period begins immediately after recruitment period. This lasts approximately 6-8 weeks. It is for those students that are working towards becoming part of an active sister of Delta Psi Delta.
Q: Is it expensive?
A: No. We are a Canadian National Sorority hence our dues are a lot lower then an International Sorority. You get to see first hand where the money is being spent without worrying about any hidden fees. Please keep in mind that there are payment plans available. You will get more information on this when you are given a bid at the start of your New Member Period.
Q: How much time does it require?
A: Between 2-8 hours per week once you become a New Member. However, the more time you put in the more you get from the sorority experience.
Q: Is being a New Member for Delta Psi Delta like the movies?
A: Not at all. We do not haze as we realize that our New Members are our future sisters. Through this process and becoming an active sister you will build bonds with females that have similar goals in mind.
Q: Is it true that Philanthropy is a focus?
A: Absolutely! D Psi D sisters take pride in helping out the community by volunteering at the food bank, the Hamilton Interval House, raising funds for the MS Society of Canada and even participating in the Relay for Life Campaign in McMaster. We schedule monthly volunteer events which help us become stronger as individuals and as a sorority.
