The best way to give back to the community that gives so much to us! We are very philanthropy driven and love to have fun doing it, whatever way we can. Delta Psi Delta prides itself on giving back to the community. Each chapter is expected to support their local food bank and battered women's shelters. When Delta Psi Delta was founded in 1991, the Founding Mothers felt that since they were starting as a local sorority, it was important for them to shine within the community and support local organizations. As the sorority continues to grow, Delta Psi Delta still feels that it is important for each chapter to support their community first and for most. By having a strong community, we can build towards something greater on a larger scale. However, Delta Psi Delta is not limited to these organizations. The Sisters pride themselves in going above and beyond supporting other philanthropic ventures throughout the year such as the Canadian Cancer Society through the annual Relay for Life campaign. We were even in the top 5 teams for fundraising during Relay For Life (and we were one of the smallest teams)! 

 

The ladies of the Eta chapter contribute to all areas of their surrounding community, however, an annual focus is on The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Local Women’s shelters and Local Food Banks. The Eta Chapter has partaken in many philanthropic efforts, such as McMaster’s Trick-or-Eat campaign, Hamilton’s Catholic Children’s Aid Society Christmas Drive, McMaster’s Relay for Life, Hockey Night in Hamilton , Make a Wish drives, and The Interval House’s “House Full of Hope Campaign.” In the past we have had auctions, door-to-door collections, snack stations and good ol’ fashioned fundraising. If you were really into giving back, were raised to be a generous and helpful person, or even feel the need to get more involved now then come and help us raise money for our three beloved charities.
