Currently: First year of Life Science at McMaster University

Hello all! I am currently in my first year of Life Sciences and majoring in Honours Life Science come second year. Upon coming to McMaster for my first year of university, I was seeking a positive, supportive and fun-loving group of girls to accent my first-year experience – and joining Delta Psi Delta did not only meet this goal, but significantly surpassed my expectations. I have met some of my best friends (and future roommates) along with other amazing women. Upon recruitment, Delta Psi Delta welcomed me with open arms and in all honesty, I’ve never felt more loved and accepted by an organization than this sorority has made me feel. I immediately bonded with so many amazing girls and began to get really excited about the idea of being a part of Greek Life at McMaster. Not only have I met some amazing people, but I have been able to make connections with girls that can provide me support and guidance throughout my academic undergraduate years. When times have gotten tough or stressful, the girls in this sorority have always had my back and have provided endless amounts of love and support – and that is something that is not easy to come by. Delta Psi Delta has genuinely become my “home away from home,” and I know I have found my place here at university!

Hello!! Joining Delta Psi Delta was one of the best choices I have made coming to University at McMaster! I never knew that Universities within Canada had Sororities or Fraternities available for students to join, so I was happily surprised knowing that there is an opportunity for me to connect with many beautiful women that are part of this sorority. Joining Delta Psi Delta has taught me that no matter the path we come from, or choose to leave behind, there will be people that will help guide you and strengthen you throughout your journey. I am more than proud to say that I am part of this sorority. Words cannot begin to explain how in awe I am knowing that I have a family of sisters to fall back on when times get rough, or hold onto when we need one another. I would love share this feeling with new and upcoming classes and grow our family throughout the course of my career here within McMaster.❤

Currently: Second year at McMaster University

Hello! I am currently in 2nd year Honours Biology and looking to become a doctor someday. I’ve always wanted to work in the medical field but Grey’s Anatomy just put the cherry on top. Other than spending my time marathoning Grey’s, I also enjoy playing sports. I used to play volleyball, soccer and badminton but now I spend most of my time memorizing biology information or catching up on sleep. First year of university was rough for me just like a lot of people. Finding a strong group of friends was hard since all I did was stay inside residence everyday and did not try to interact with many people. After first year, I realized that in order for me to enjoy my next few years in university, I must find my group of people that I enjoy spending time with. I was walking through student centre one day and one of the sisters came up to me and told me all about Delta Psi Delta. I went to the information session and instantly felt welcomed by all the sister. To find such a homely feeling in a room at BSB was amazing. People always say home is where the heart is and my heart was definitely with the sorority in the moment. I was determined to become an active sister ever since that day and now here I am, Epsilon class! Joining DPD was the best choice I have made since arriving at Mac. One thing that I truly love about the sorority is the amount of individuality in the sorority. There will always be at least one person who is down to do the same things as you so you never have to feel alone.

Currently: Second year of Commerce at McMaster University

Hi! My name is Jennifer and I am currently studying commerce at McMaster. Some of my favourite things are chocolate, reading, online shopping, and of course my cats. I love spending time with my friends and family, when I am not busy and meeting new interesting people, which is one of the main reasons that lead me to join Delta Psi Delta. I never really thought I would join a sorority, but it has lead me to new experiences and friendships, and every sister I have met is so unique and special in their own way. I can’t wait for the new memories are yet to be made and to continue to build a bond with the sisters of DPD!

Currently: First year of Kinesiology at McMaster University

I joined the sorority to find a home away from home, but what I walked into was so much more. Delta Psi Delta is so much more than a sisterhood, it offers a chance to learn, to grow, and to create change. If my experiences so far are any indication of what is yet to come, then joining a sorority was one of the best decisions I almost didn’t make – a story for another day. Because of Delta Psi Delta, if I ever need someone to talk to, someone to laugh with or someone to smile with no matter the reason, I know where to look.

Currently: First year of Humanities at McMaster University

Hi! I’m Suzany, I’m a first year in Humanities, planing to major in political science next year. I love writing, music, Netflix, and traveling. I came to McMaster for its amazing Humanities faculty and the student atmosphere but found it hard to connect with the school beyond academia. Being the awkward introvert I am, I found it hard to socialize or make meaningful connections and so I decided to join a bunch of clubs to find my community.

Though I never saw myself as being a part of a sorority, I wanted to be more social and make meaningful friendships. I went to info night on a whim and immediately felt so welcomed by these amazing girls.
I loved that DPD was so diverse, how every girl was so different but united by the same values. I rushed wanting to make some friends but I found a group of girls that I really bonded with and I knew I could count on. Being a part of DPD helped me find my place at Mac and connect to the community in so many ways. As a newly active, I’m excited for all the new experiences that DPD has in store
